Memento system in Red Covenant introduces a specialized mechanic designed to deepen the character customization and progression experience. Acquirable exclusively through Mural Summon (Gacha), Memento provide a strategic avenue for players to enhance their Forsakens' capabilities beyond traditional leveling and gearing strategies.

Design Intentions

• Resource Engagement: Serve as an additional resource sink to utilize characters' Indulgences and Devotions effectively.

• Enhanced Customization: Offer players an extension of spending depth, allowing for further personalization of their favorite characters.

• Strategic Depth: Introduce a layer of strategic planning in the allocation of resources towards character and weapon enhancement.

General Mechanics

• Acquisition and Equipment: Upon obtaining a Memento from Mural Summon, it automatically equips to the corresponding character and becomes non-transferable.

• Resource Utilization: Acquiring a Memento also grants the player the corresponding character’s Indulgence and Devotion, integrating character progression with the Memento system.

• Leveling and Star Upgrades: Players can enhance their Mementos by leveling them up using Memento XP Material and Geld, with opportunities to increase the Memento's stars for further stat boosts and special bonuses.

Unique Weapon Leveling and Stars

• Initial State: All Mementos start at Level 1 and 1 Star, requiring specific amounts of XP and Geld for each level up.

• Material Efficiency: Memento XP Materials are categorized by the character's faction, with bonuses applied when using faction-specific materials.

• Geld Calculation: The Geld required for leveling up follows a formula, aligning with the character leveling system.

Special Bonuses

• Leveling Up Bonuses: Each level-up provides additional ATK, HP, or HEALING stats, with specific boosts dependent on the Memento and character.

• Star Up Bonuses: Enhancing a Memento's stars unlocks unique bonuses, such as enhancing the character’s passive skills or improving terrain affinity ranks, further tailoring characters to specific combat roles.

Bonus for Leveling Up and Starring Up

• Stat Gains: The stat increase for each level is calculated linearly from each level up, ensuring consistent progression.

• Special Bonuses: Star upgrades offer significant enhancements, like stat boosts and terrain affinity improvements, distinct for each character.

This system not only incentivizes strategic resource management but also enriches the gameplay experience through deep character customization. By carefully selecting and upgrading Memento, players can significantly impact their Forsakens' performance in battle, aligning with the game's overarching strategy and progression mechanics.
